J&J Contractors, Inc. was selected through the State of Massachusetts DCAM competitive bid program as the general contractor for this addition and renovations of the Westminster Elementary School in Westminster, MA.
The Westminster Elementary School included the renovation of the existing elementary school classroom and restroom areas and a new addition to accommodate supplemental administrative offices. The school was occupied by faculty and students during construction activity. J&J took all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all the building occupants throughout the project.
A number of unexpected challenges sprung into the project as construction activities progressed including encountered asbestos, lead paint and unsuitable materials. Each challenge was handled in a timely and efficient manner as to not delay the contract completion date.
