Project Description:

In September of 1936, the first shovel hit the ground to construct the original and now historic Manning Bowl. The football stadium was completed in June, 1938 involving more than 1000 workers. The Manning Bowl was named for Mayor J. Fred Manning. At the time of construction, the gray cement structure cost half a million dollars.

After numerous repairs, it was deemed that the “Bowl” needed to be demolished to make way for a new, modernized facility.

J&J Contractors, Inc., contracted with the City of Lynn, constructed a new 3-story press box/field house, stadium bleacher seating, and parking areas where the old Manning Bowl once stood in Lynn, MA.

The Field House consisted of home team, visiting team and referee locker rooms, public restroom facilities, and a press box with exterior 360 degree camera platforms.  The core of the bleachers/field house housed a 3-story elevator.  The project also included a concession stand with full kitchen services.
