Project Description:

J&J Contractors Inc. was contracted by the US Army Corps of Engineers for the Design and Construction of a new Armed Forces Reserve Center located in Windsor County at White River Junction, Vermont.

The project includes the construction of a new 51,000 SF Training Building, 6,000 SF Organizational Maintenance Shop (OMS), 14,900 SF Unheated Vehicle Storage Building, and a 7,500 SF Unheated Storage Building.

The project also includes organizational parking, antiterrorism measures and building information systems.

Buildings will be of permanent construction with reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floor slabs, HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, security systems, and electrical systems.

The project is located in a rural area in Vermont and J&J Contractors, Inc. will be self-performing all site and concrete related activities.  The project sits on an 18 acre parcel that is mainly open field and contains several wetland areas. The AFRC in White River Junction contains nearly 10,000 SY of heavy-duty asphalt paving as well as 3,250 SY of medium-duty asphalt paving.

This project has a goal of LEED Silver Certification.
